We are committed to growing safe and sustainable blueberries using many Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs).
- Regular water testing to make sure the water we irrigate and wash equipment with is safe to drink.
- We use an integrated pest management program to ensure high quality fruit production. While we try not use chemicals unless absolutely necessary, there are times when we must use small amounts of chemicals to ensure quality nutritious fruit. All spray guidelines are met and carefully documented.
- Employee hygiene training is a requirement for all staff at Van Klei Farms
- We use clean harvesting practices and wash all equipment and materials daily.
- We use Honey Bees to pollinate our crop in a natural and effective way.
